Often confused with Bald Eagles, which also live in the basin, ospreys are noticeably smaller, have a white belly and head, and feature a dark brown "bandit mask" stripe through their eyes. You can find them around Emerald Bay State Park, D.L. Bliss State Park, and around the Truckee River.
