When you're hiking on trails, you may have seen signs at trailheads stating to keep an eye out for Sierra Nevada yellow-legged frogs, such as the trailhead to Cascade Falls across from Emerald Bay State Park...

Well, we have some good news to share! Multiple agencies and organizations have collaborated to reintroduce these little frogs to their native range in the Tahoe National Forest, while also removing non-native species that contributed to their decline. We look forward to following the progress of this work in the coming years.
