We have tools and we know how to use them. Yoga practices have always incorporated the use of tools. Modern classes that focus upon asana utilize mats, straps, blocks, blankets, bolsters, chairs, walls and more.
Mindfulness practices can begin with the use of mantra, yantra and trataka. To access meditation we must remove these tools. To access samtosa, we first must value what we have; body, breath, energy, emotion, senses and thoughts. We have to detach from desire and the trappings of ego. We have to let go of our wants and the stuff that is not Self. What can you release to allow yourself to feel ease as you are?

Have you taken the Tahoe City Community Center community survey yet? There’s still time to share your input!📝 Access the survey below! TCPUD recently completed a feasibility study evaluating three potential recreation concepts for the property:
🏀 Indoor gymnasium
🏊 Indoor aquatic center
🏀🏊 Combined gymnasium and aquatic center

Before any decisions are made, the TCPUD Board wants to better understand community interest in these concepts and support for potential funding. Any future facility would require a combination of District funds and a new parcel tax. If you live, work, or recreate in the Tahoe City area, please take a few minutes to complete the survey by September 7.

It's patio summer for just a bit longer! Come and soak up the wonderful weather!

Did you know that beavers' teeth are orange? Beavers have long incisors that get their orange color from an iron-rich protective coating of enamel. Their teeth grow continuously throughout their life, but daily use helps trim them down. Because the softer dentine (bony tissue that forms a tooth) wears away faster than the enamel, a beaver’s teeth wear down unevenly. This gives the incisors a chiseled shape, which helps beavers cut through hard objects like wood.
