Pain McSchlonkey Classic
March 26
Are you ready to laugh, smile and have the greatest time of your life? If so, then you must attend the upcoming Pain McSchlonkey Classic. The organized event has been a part of our calendar since 2010, resulting from the passing of Shane McConkey (one of the legendary skiers of Lake Tahoe who helped make this community what it is today). This event is all about having fun, an aspect of life that was of supreme importance for Shane. He enjoyed dressing up and making fun of a sport that is sometimes taken too seriously, Shane taught us how to enjoy life a little bit more. To celebrate his life and the lessons he taught us, his wife, Sherry, created a nonprofit, The McConkey Foundation, that runs this event each year. Be sure to bring your snowblades, dress up in your most outrageous ski duds and come out to Palisades Tahoe to enjoy a full day of belly laughs, camaraderie and philanthropy in celebration of Shane's life. To participate, all you need to do is snap a picture of yourself anywhere you are (on the mountain, in the parking lot, or even your bedroom) while in your best duds and then post the picture to Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #snowbladeday. This will get you entered into the infamous photo contest with prizes given to the best costume as well as other awards and a huge raffle. The race is on Saturday, March 26, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

WinterWonderGrass
April 1 to 3
Now this is one event that I am truly excited to say is coming back to Lake Tahoe. WinterWondergrass is a must if you enjoy live music and community gatherings that invoke an adventurous spirit. Emphasizing a fantastic experience over the number of attendees, the entire event focuses on impressive artists, community sustainability and locally sourced products. The event also supports local nonprofits. Returning with the same lineup from the 2020 WinterWonderGrass are bands like Billy Strings, The Infamous Stringdusters, The California Honeydrops, Peter Rowan, The War & Treaty, Brothers Comatose, Kitchen Dwellers, Della Mae, Lindsay Lou, Larry Keel Experience, WinterWonderWomen, Pickin’ on the Dead and many more. As so well said by the WinterWonderGrass organization that hosts similar events in other mountain towns, this is an opportunity for "cultivating the relationship between wild nature, raw original music and the protection of our planet." The event runs for three days, from April 1 to April 3, at Palisades Tahoe.

Self-care is monumentally important for happy longevity. To help you connect deeper to your own inner wellness that is inherently available to you at all times, Edgewood Tahoe is hosting a month-long event throughout April. With several exclusive opportunities to focus on your own health-filled journey, Taholistic offers guided nature walks, yoga, meditation and other modalities that connect you with your best, healthiest self. Lodge guests will receive a beautiful crystal as a turndown gift for attending and as a small reminder of the rejuvenation experience.
2022 Spring Show: Michael Flohr
April 8 & 9
There is something inspiring about watching an accomplished artist bring the beauty of Tahoe to life in a painting. To enjoy such mastery, join Michael Flohr on both April 8 and 9, from 12 to 5 p.m., at the Marcus Ashley Art Gallery in South Lake Tahoe. The theme will be "April Showers Bring May Flowers," with an emphasis on paintings that showcase the natural environment through the oil medium. Enjoy watching Michael paint live as well as see some of his featured umbrella oil paintings.
5th Tahoe Tattoo Show
April 15 to 17
The artistry of tattooing is a mastery in its own right. To enjoy the creativity of the top tattoo artists in the nation, be sure not to miss the upcoming 5th Tahoe Tattoo Show happening at Harrah's Casino from April 15 to April 17. This will give you the opportunity to not only see this artistry in person, but also to get tattooed by 160 different tattooists, all located in the same place. The Tahoe Tattoo Show was created by the promoters of the infamous French Evian Tattoo Show, originally organized in 2007 in the French Alps near Geneva. Recognizing the similarities between these two great regions of the world, this sister convention is a gathering not to be missed.
