Tahoe Comedy Improv Players will be hosting ComedySportz San Jose in a match of wits between two teams of improvisation players for two shows. ComedySportz is a spoof on sports. Wearing blue and red uniforms, the players improvise scenes from audience suggestions. The audience selects the winner of each round and ultimately the match. A referee, in a zebra-striped jersey, keeps the match moving along, getting suggestions, keeping time, and when necessary, calls the ComedySportz fouls . . . for example if a player makes an off-color remark, they must sit out the rest of the scene, and the Groaner Foul is called when a player uses a pun that gets a groan from the audience.
