Truckee's Firecracker Mile
A Beloved 4th of July Tradition in Truckee. Kick off Independence Day with the Firecracker Mile, a fast, festive one-mile race down the Truckee parade route—from US Bank to Old Town. Held just before the parade, it’s a high-energy celebration for runners, families, and spectators alike.
More than just a race, the Firecracker Mile is a fundraiser for the Auburn Ski Club Legacy Foundation’s junior scholarship fund, supporting young local athletes in winter sports. Organized by ASC Training Center and sponsored by the Truckee Chamber and Tahoe Mountain Sports, the race welcomes all ages and levels. The first 500 finishers receive a commemorative water bottle!
