Model Railroading Class
Event Description:
This four-session workshop introduces students to the hobby of model railroading through a mix of classroom sessions and hands-on operation using the Railroad Society's HO-scale "Truckee 1927" model railroad. Students will learn how to operate model trains using Digital Command Control with a smartphone throttle app, how to troubleshoot electrical and derailment problems, and how to do simple repairs. Students will also learn about scales, types of engines and railroad cars, and Truckee's railroad history. Students may also qualify as operators for our future model railroad events.
