Songs for Sinners & Saints
Truckee Tahoe Community Chorus and Diablo Valley College Philharmonic Orchestra present "Songs for Sinners and Saints" at the North Tahoe Event Center in Kings Beach. This concert explores the innate, human notions of vice, virtue and redemption. Programing includes both serious and tongue-in-cheek tales of shame, guilt, deception, lust, jealousy and gluttony balanced by stories of fidelity, forgiveness, hope, reverence and sainthood. The program includes Brahms' Shicksalslied, Op. 54 (Song of Destiny) that depicts dualities such as light and dark, hope and despair, peace and suffering... dualities that mirror our very human essence, the sinner and the saint.
Non-profit partner for the event, Sierra Community House, will have representatives on hand to provide information about the range of services offered to help individuals and families in the North Tahoe/Truckee communities thrive.
