North Tahoe Home Race
Get your cow bells and cheer on our local North Tahoe Middle and High School Nordic athletes on Friday, February 14, for their only home Nordic race of the year!
This is a Freestyle (skate) race with about 37 athletes representing North Tahoe Middle School and 22 skiers donning the Laker blue of North Tahoe High School. (Although some NTHS skiers will be racing in Soldier Hollow, UT, this weekend at the Super Junior Nationals Qualifier event.) In total, we’re expecting 300+ student-athletes from across the region to be participating in races at Tahoe XC today.
Start & Finish: Snow permitting, the start and finish area will be in the meadow adjacent to North Tahoe High School, just east of the football stadium, on the far end of Yellow Trail.
Race Schedule:
10:30am – High School Girls
11:15am – High School Boys
12:00pm – Middle School Girls
12:30pm – Middle School Boys
Racecourse: Exact course will be decided closer to the race, but we expect the course to generally be confined to Lower Green, Special Green, Extra Green, and Dogonit Trails.
Spectators: Spectators who are not involved in setting up, organizing, or coaching should plan to park at Tahoe XC and ski to the start and finish area. This helps relieve parking at the school during school hours. Special spectator discounted day passes will be sold at Tahoe XC day of.
Customer Note: Please be aware and respectful of the racers and racecourse area (described above) between 10:30am and 1:00pm on Feb 14th. All races should be finished by approximately 1:00pm. Tahoe XC customers will be able to avoid the racecourse area by accessing, and returning from, the outer trail system via Upper Green and Blue Trails.
