Wilderness First Aid w/ NOLS Wilderness Medicine
The Tahoe Rim Trail Association is hosting a two-day Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course taught by NOLS Wilderness Medicine. This course provides individuals with a foundation in important first-aid concepts critical to responding effectively to emergencies in a remote backcountry environment.
This fast-paced, 2 day hands-on training is designed to meet the needs of trip leaders, camp staff, outdoor enthusiasts, and individuals working in remote locations. It will introduce you to caring for people who become ill or injured far from definitive medical care. Classroom lectures and demonstrations are combined with realistic scenarios where mock patients will challenge you to integrate your learning. At the end of the course, you’ll have the knowledge, skills, and ability to make sound decisions in emergencies.
This course may also be used to recertify NOLS Wilderness Medicine Wilderness First Responder (WFR) and NOLS Wilderness Medicine WEMT (wilderness portion only) certifications.
