Event Description:
Join the TRTA and TINS along the impressive Thunder Cliffs for an unforgettable hike and interpretive talk! Learn about the massive, geologic forces that helped create the Tahoe Basin as we travel back in time to look at the formation of the lake and how these forces are still at play today. Naturally, there will be some mention of local flora and fauna on the way to the Cliffs as well.
As part of the Tahoe Summer Exploration Series, the Tahoe Institute for Natural Science (TINS) and the Tahoe Rim Trail Association (TRTA) have partnered to provide summer excursions on a variety of nature-based topics. This will be a moderate hike, approximately six miles roundtrip.
