Envision Tahoe Talks: The Macias Brothers
We are excited to welcome the Macias Brothers back to share their story. In addition to reflecting on their professional path, they will discuss the barriers and opportunities for Spanish-speaking residents in our community. During our 2023 Envision Tahoe Venture Summit, entrepreneurial brothers David and Martin Macias generated rave reviews for their breakout session focused on the challenges and achievements they experienced while entering the workforce, working in the building trades, finding a market need and launching their business, Macias Power Washing Solutions.
The Macias Brothers’ path to professional and entrepreneurial success has been a unique one. Traditionally pathways of working from K-12 to higher education and eventually finding a career path didn’t suit either brother. David and Martin both carved their own paths with nontraditional education, working through the building and construction trades and teaming up to address a market need they identified. The Macias Brothers have experienced many highs and lows over the course of their young careers but have shown the ingenuity and determination to just get things done. The examples they’ve set can be a case study for how Tahoe's regional economy can lean into its strengths, adapt and provide greater opportunity for more residents.
