Tahoe Music Alive - Flute Flights of Fancy
North Tahoe will play host July 6 to both the Queen of Flutes and the Rock Star of Flutes, accompanied by a rising star of the piano. Known around the world as “Queen of the Flute”, legendary flutist Carol Wincenc is playing with “the “Rock Star of the Flute” Ráyo Furuta (per Informador de Guadalajara in Mexico, where he was cultural ambassador) and Yamaha Pianist Alexandria Le.
Like FIREWORKS FOR THE FLUTE - their sheer virtuosity and the wide-ranging emotional power of their music.
The trio’s Tahoe Music Alive concert on July 6th at Olympic Valley Chapel, 4-6pm will offer an afternoon of flute-piano trios and duets. The tonal beauty, agility and dynamic range of the flute will include a range of classical, romantic and avant-garde pieces, in what promises to be an experience of nuanced musical textures with world-class lyrical and emotional expression.
The concert is sponsored in part by Dan and Charlene Simmons in honor of Charlene’s mother, Jean Wear, a flutist and teacher.
