USDA Food Distribution for Nevada Residents: A free food distribution at the Tahoe Douglas Senior Center, 885 Hwy. 50, Zephyr Cove, NV will be held on March 24th from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Tahoe basin residents must show proof of Nevada residency and have a picture I. D. They must sign an affidavit of income below 150% of the poverty level which for a single person would be $1458.74 monthly and for a household of four would be $2981.25. No proof of income is necessary. Commodities to be given out include dry beans, cranberries, juice, canned vegetables and fruits and frozen chicken. Each distribution has available 6 -8 items. Preference will be given to households that have participated in previous months. These food distributions for 2016 are on the fourth Thursdays of every other month: May 26th, July 28th, etc. November's distribution is on the third Thursday due to Thanksgiving.
