Community Parks & Facilities
The Tahoe City Public Utility District (TCPUD) is home to incredible Parks & Recreation facilities, each offering its own slice of fun. Explore some of the community’s favorite spots below:
Commons Beach, 400 North Lake Blvd, Tahoe City
Owned by Placer County and operated by TCPUD, Commons Beach is a 4+ acre park and beach in downtown Tahoe City that includes playground, picnic sites, and a lakefront grass and sand area. In the summer, Commons Beach is home weekly farmer’s market, concerts, and outdoor movies. No pets are allowed and this is enforced by Placer County Animal Control. Available for rent: Group BBQ area that can accommodate up to 75 people and an 65-seat amphitheater.
Skylandia Park and Beach, 90 Aspen Street, Tahoe City
24-acre park owned by the State of California, operated by the TCPUD, and home of the traditional Camp Skylandia Summer Camp, this park and beach that includes walking paths, picnic BBQ areas, pier, and swimming area. Leashed pets are allowed in the park and on walking paths, but not on the beach and enforced by Placer County Animal Control. Available for rent: Group picnic area that can accommodate up to 140 people.
Kilner Park, Hwy 89 & Ward Ave, Tahoe City
Owned and operated by the TCPUD, this 7-acre park that includes playground, sand volleyball court, tennis and pickleball courts (with lights), picnic and BBQ area, and along the West Shore Multi-Use Trail. Available for rent: 1 tennis court, 4 pickleball courts, sand volleyball courts and a group picnic area.
Pomin Park, 2500 Lake Forest Rd, Tahoe City
The park offers a large athletic field, playground, batting cage and picnic area. Available for rent: Park Area & Field.
64 Acres Park, 165 West Lake Blvd, Tahoe City
Interested in going on a bike ride? How about a picnic? The 64-Acres Park is owned, operated, and maintained by the USFS-Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit. Located just south of the "Y" in Tahoe City, this park hosts parking, picnicking and provides access to the TCPUD bike trail system and to the Truckee River itself through a rafting ramp.
Tahoe City Dog Park, 375 Grove Street, Tahoe City
The small park is located in downtown Tahoe City, next to Tahoe Lake Elementary School and includes a water spigot, dog clean-up bags and a seating area.
Marie Sluchak Community Park, Corner of Pine St. & Wilson, Tahoma
The park is located in Tahoma and includes a playground, stage, seating area and summer programs. Rentals are available through the Tahoe Cedars Property Owners Association.
Elizabeth Williams Park, 4 miles south of downtown Tahoe City on Hwy 89
The park is along the West Shore Trail and includes picnic and BBQ areas. Rentals are NOT available.
