2nd Fridays
Join Tahoe City and West Shore businesses on the second Friday of each month from January through April where visitors and locals can explore, sip, shop, dine, and play. Retailers will stay open later with special deals, unique gifts, and local surprises. These events bring fun, creativity, and community energy to downtown, with our local businesses at the heart of it all. Free TART Connect rides make it easy to get around without parking worries.
January 9: Tahoe City Shop, Sip & Solve
Join us for an interactive scavenger-style experience that takes participants on a tour of Old Tahoe City through historic locations, local businesses, and beloved community landmarks. Participants will check in at specific locations, answer questions, and earn points throughout the day for chances to win prizes.
February 13: Galantine’s Day
Retailers will stay open later to welcome evening strolls through our walkable downtown, offering special deals, unique gifts and local surprises. The strolls will feature live music and festively decorated storefronts to enhance the ambiance, and free rides via TART Connect will make it easy to get around without worrying about parking.
March 13: Tahoe City Retro Day (80’s Theme)
Retro Day will celebrate all things 80’s, with a special emphasis on vintage ski style. Ideas include retro ski movie screenings (family-friendly), disco dance parties, late-night after-parties, and kid-focused activities. We’re also open to creative ideas like a babysitting fundraiser hosted by a nonprofit or youth group. If it fits the 80’s vibe, we want to hear it.
April 10: Spring Thaw Shopping Scavenge
This event will mirror the popular Sip, Shop & Solve scavenger hunt, allowing participants to earn points by checking in, submitting photos of receipts, or reaching spending milestones. Businesses are encouraged to offer discounts, deals, drinks, or host small activities or crafts. Early submissions ensure everything can be fully integrated into the scavenger hunt and marketing efforts.
