Level up: Mandatory Sexual Harassment Training
Effective January 1, 2019, California employers with 5 or more employees must provide at least two hours of training that satisfies applicable California regulations to all managers/supervisors on prevention of sexual harassment.
The training must be completed no later than January 1, 2020. The April 10th Tahoe Chamber live training session will satisfy all the California requirements for managers/supervisors. It is recommended, but not required, that Nevada employers provide the same training to managers/supervisors. Certificates of Attendance will be issued to all who attend this program.
About the Presenter: Brett Sutton is an attorney and owner of the Sutton Hague Law Corporation (www.suttonhague.com), which has offices in both California and Nevada. He has nearly thirty years of legal practice experience and is licensed to practice law in California and Nevada. He has trained thousands in sexual harassment prevention, and all aspects of employment law. In 2016, Brett was inducted as a Fellow of the prestigious national College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and has the highest possible rating as a practicing attorney from Martindale-Hubbell. He has served for many years as a Contributing Editor of the leading treatise on California Employment Law. He is a Board Director of the Nevada Restaurant Association and serves on the Government Affairs Committee. He also is a member of the Nevada Leadership Counsel of the National Federation of Independent Business Brett graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law with honors in 1989, where he was also a member of the Law Review. He resides in the South Lake Tahoe area and handles cases and clients throughout California and Nevada.
