Tahoe Climbing Coalition Launch Party
Join us Saturday, May 4th, from 6PM-9PM for the Tahoe Climbing Coalition’s Launch Party. There will be a special presentation by Ethan Pringle, a raffle and silent auction with rad prizes to win, pull-up party, and 2 food vendors to choose from. This event is free and your chance to learn more about TCC and how you can get involved!
Come celebrate the launch of TCC (Tahoe Climbing Coalition), a new Lake Tahoe Local Climbing Organization. Our mission is to improve and protect the climbing in Lake Tahoe though stewardship and mentorship. We plan to improve relations with land managers, sponsor adopt-a-crag days, gym-to-crag education, trail work, maintaining hardware, and to reach out to the underserved population to help them experience rock climbing.
We’re thrilled to announce that Ethan Pringle @ethan_pringle will be at our Launch Party for a presentation, slideshow and Q&A about his expedition to Greenland last summer.
Ethan has been climbing at a high level for years, finding success on the competition scene as well as putting up hard routes outdoors. Besides being an all around cool guy, Ethan has grabbed notable ascents of The Wheel of Life V15 (8C) and The Nest V15 (8C), Jumbo Love: 5.15b (9b), 5.15a (9a+), Biographie: 5.15a (9a+) and Thor's Hammer: 5.15a (9a+), among many others. May 4th he’ll be sharing stories from his mission to send one of the biggest unclimbed towers in the world, and all the heinous obstacles their crew of five guys (minus the burgers and fries) encountered: arctic black flies, sketchy rockfall, yawning crevasses, polar bears, and getting stuck in sea ice for days.
This is YOUR chance to get involved and help out your community and help protect our beloved local climbing areas. We will have a lot of swag for a great raffle and silent auction. This will also be a chance to become a member of this exciting new organization.
The party will include a silent auction, raffle, membership levels (including beer discounts), a hang board and pull-up competition.
The Oven and Chicken in a Barrel will be on-site serving yummy food.
