Event Description: 

The Biannual Sierra Nevada Alliance Conservation Conference will take place this year from November 7-8 in South Lake Tahoe at Lake Tahoe Community College. This year's theme is Strengthening Conservation Impact Through Partnership, reflecting an effort to gather the public and conservation professionals together to work to protect the region’s critical natural resources.

The event will feature a keynote speech by Madeline Drake, Assistant Secretary for Biodiversity and Habitat at California Natural Resources Agency. It will begin with a tribal welcome and incorporate participation by several indigenous tribes from the region. Also included in the event are a host of working sessions and presentations on topics like equity in conservation, wildfire mitigation, community participation in science, ecosystem management, sustainable recreation, and more. The Sugar Pine Foundation will also be hosting a Sugar Pine Planting session on the college grounds. 

The conference opens at 3:00 p.m. on November 7 and runs through 5:00 p.m. on November 8. The public is invited to pre-register for tickets online through November 1 at the Alliance’s website: sierranevadaalliance.org.
