busiest beavers. Having been an Oregon Duck fan all my life, I really don’t buy much stock in
them buck-toothed beavers, though I do have a soft spot in my heart for the beavers of Canada.
By building cozy watery homes for themselves and their families, Canadian beavers are also
unintentionally washing out roads and flooding farmer’s fields, those little bucked-toothed
beavers.

Forum restrictions and orderly conduct of business. The Citizen Advisory Board is an advisory body providing
community comments and recommendations to Washoe County advisory and governing boards. The presiding
officer may order the removal of any person whose statement to other conduct disrupts the orderly, efficient or
safe conduct of the meeting. Warning against disruptive conduct may or may not be given prior to removal. The
viewpoint of a speaker will not be restricted, but reasonable restrictions may be imposed upon the time, place and
manner of speech. Irrelevant and unduly repetitious statements and personal attacks which antagonize or incite
others are examples of speech that may be reasonably limited.
Responses to public comments. The Citizen Advisory Board can deliberate or take action only if a matter has been
listed on an agenda properly posted prior to the meeting. During the public comment period, speakers may

responses to public comments by the CAB. However, responses from Citizen Advisory Board members to unlisted

Dennis Zabaglo, Aquatic Resources Program Manager, Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, will discuss the
growing concern about the spread of aquatic invasive and nuisance plant species which covers over 90%
of the Tahoe Keys lagoons and the potential application of a herbicide to address this problem. (NonAction Item).
5. INCLINE VILLAGE GENERAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT AND TAHOE WATER SUPPLIERS ASSOCIATION
– Madonna Dunbar, Resource Conservationist, IVGID and Executive Director, Tahoe Water Suppliers
Association, will provide a brief update on the current regulatory process related to the proposed use of
the herbicide discussed above. (Non-Action Item).
6. NDOT HWY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT – McKenna Temen, Sr. Public Information Specialist, North
America Transportation Planning West and Bhupinder Sandhu, P.E., NDOT’S District II Resident Engineer,
will present the highway improvement project in the Incline Village area. This is a multi-year project
that will go through early 2023. There will also be updates on the next construction season that begins
in the Spring of 2022 (Non-Action Item).
7. PRESENTATION BY COMMISSIONER HILL – Commissioner Hill will advise the community of the
outcome of her discussions with the County on the opportunity of the Incline Village Crystal Bay CAB to
be involved in local development projects and how to apply to be on the TTD Committee looking at
alternative sites for the transportation hub in Incline Village. (Non- Action Item)
8. CAB BOARD MEMBER/BCC NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS — This item is limited to announcements
by CAB members and Commissioner Alexis Hill. (Non-Action Item)

PRESS RELEASE: 800 TAHOE BLVD, PET STATION LEASE AND BUILDING REMODEL

Pet Station Signs Lease at 800 Tahoe Blvd, Incline Village Pet Station, a full-service pet company with 13 locations around the Reno/Tahoe Region, has leased the 4,300sf first floor at 800 Tahoe Blvd, Incline Village, Nevada. Kidder Mathews’ commercial real estate brokers Mark Keyzers and Troy Keeney represented Pet Station owners Marshall Grattan and Philip Bankhead. Pet Station will share the 9,400 square foot retail building with the Village Ski Loft, North Lake Tahoe’s premier ski and bike shop since 1980. Plans are also being finalized for the inclusion of an ATM owned and operated by a major retail bank. Pet Station plans to move into the space in Spring 2022 following completion of improvements to the space, leaving the Raley’s Shopping Center where they have been for the past nine years. Located directly on State Route 28 which is both a state and National Scenic Byway, their new space will provide them a prominent corner location with improved retail visibility from over 10,000 vehicles passing on an average day. Following a design by Dock One Studio of Tiburon, CA, exterior remodeling of the property, owned by Tahoe Immo, is underway with new windows, doors, siding, lighting, and paint. Scott Dutcher, Tahoe Immo’s General Manager, expects the project to be completed by late 2021 under the supervision of general contractor Norman Ventures NV of Reno. Tahoe Immo manages six Incline Village properties, encompassing nearly 60,000 sf of retail and commercial space with 50 business tenants. For more information, visit tahoe-immo.com.

CELEBRATE SAFELY DURING THE THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY

First and foremost, as we all begin to prepare for the holidays, let’s take a moment to pause and give thanks. Thanks for our health, thanks for our families and friends and for celebrating special times with our loved ones.

As we spend more time in the kitchen with a lot of activity around meal preparations, remember to follow some simple safety tips so you can enjoy time with your loved ones and keep yourself and your family safe from fire.

According to NFPA, Thanksgiving is the leading day of the year for home fires involving cooking equipment. Take this opportunity to create activities that keep kids out of the kitchen – board games, puzzles, books can keep them busy and out of harm’s way. Here are some safety tips to think about leading up to this family holiday.

Stay in the kitchen when you are cooking on the stovetop so you can keep an eye on the food.
Stay in the home when cooking your turkey and check on it frequently.
Keep children away from the stove. The stove will be hot, and kids should stay 3 feet away.
Make sure kids stay away from hot food and liquids. The steam or splash from vegetables, gravy, or coffee could cause serious burns.
If you are considering using a turkey fryer, please do some additional research. The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) discourages the use of these types of fryers for many reasons. Most of which, is the substantial amount of cooking oil used at high temperatures, pose a significant danger during the cooking process. Please refer to NFPA for more information.
Keep the floor clear so you do not trip over kids, toys, pocketbooks, or bags.
Keep knives out of the reach of children.
Be sure electric cords from an electric knife, coffee maker, plate warmer or mixer are not dangling off the counter within easy reach of a child.
Keep matches and utility lighters out of the reach of children.
Never leave children alone in a room with a lit candle.
Test your smoke alarms and make sure all are working properly.
