Adopt a Family at the Giving Tree

Lake Tahoe School, in collaboration with Tahoe Family Solutions, is hosting the annual “Giving Tree” for the holidays! Stop by the LTS foyer (995 Tahoe Boulevard) choose an ornament, and return the unwrapped presents with the original ornament to the front office. The Lake Tahoe School student council will wrap the gifts and then Tahoe Family Solutions will distribute the gifts to local families in need. Thank you all for supporting the Giving Tree!

MEET THE WSCO INCLINE VILLAGE SUBSTATION CAPTAIN & TEAM DURING NORTHERN LIGHTS TUESDAY, DECEMBER 14 3-6 PM AT SIERRA NEVADA UNIVERSITY DURING THE COCOA, COOKIES, AND CAROLS COMMUNITY EVENT.

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office was recently awarded a public safety grant from the Dave and Cheryl Duffield Foundation. This grant enabled the Washoe County Sheriff's Office Incline Patrol Division to increase its staffing footprint and provide additional resources to the Incline Village Community.

In 2008, during the great recession, Sheriff Mike Haley had to make the difficult decision to close the substation. While law enforcement services were still provided to Incline Village, the station was managed out of the Reno Patrol Office. Due to the generosity of the Dave and Cheryl Duffield Foundation, additional staffing positions were awarded beginning July 1, 2021, and the station was re-opened.

The Sheriff's Office currently has its leadership team in place and deputies completing their field training program by year's end. Captain Corey Solferino, Lieutenant Anthony Miceli, Sergeant Peter Sewell, Sergeant Joseph Colacurcio, Sergeant Noah Boyer, Sergeant Brian Atkinson, and Sergeant George Cholico will lead these deputies in new strategic policing initiatives and crime reduction strategies to include stratified policing, community-oriented policing, directed patrols, and problem-oriented policing. This leadership team tested and was hand-selected for the opportunity to be included in the Incline Village Community. They are here first and foremost because they want to be here and effect positive change.

We are excited about integrating with the local business community and residents to provide excellent service and build upon solid relationships.
Under the guidance of Sheriff Darin Balaam, our team is happy to bring education and enforcement concerning topics crucial to our community. Our team is ready, willing, and able to address some of the more complex issues that plague our region. These issues include but are not limited to opioid and substance abuse, mental health, persons experiencing homelessness, human exploitation and trafficking, traffic and pedestrian safety, and impaired driving.

The Diamond Peak Ski Education Foundation/Ski Team is looking for a few good ski coaches for the upcoming 2021-22 season. We are located in beautiful Incline Village, Nevada, on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe at Diamond Peak Ski Resort. You can work full-time, part-time or on weekends only. The TOCCATA–Tahoe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus will conclude their 16th Season with a Production of HANDEL’S MESSIAH, along with seasonal carols that the audience will be most welcome to join in singing.

Vocal Soloists for these performances will include soloists from our Chorus, and other area musicians.
The TOCCATA Orchestra features Brian Fox and Jeffrey Lindhorst as Concertmasters; David Brock and Nick Haines as continuo; with William Cates and Joe Savage on Baroque (piccolo) Trumpet.
All performances will be conducted by Maestro James Rawie.

Performances are being planned for several distinct and festive venues:

them buck-toothed beavers, though I do have a soft spot in my heart for the beavers of Canada.
By building cozy watery homes for themselves and their families, Canadian beavers are also
unintentionally washing out roads and flooding farmer’s fields, those little bucked-toothed
beavers.
