The 12th annual Ullr Fest is this Friday! There will be a torchlight parade, a bonfire, a raffle, food, drink, music, and gourmet cotton candy. You can win a YETI 75 Tundra cooler, a Diamond Peak Ski Resort Season Pass and many more cool prizes. YETI compliments of Village Ace Hardware! This year, you can buy raffle tickets online if you won't be at the party - but the weather is going to be great, so be there!

In December, the Incline Elementary School Robotics Club competed in the First LEGO League where they captured an invitation to the recent First LEGO Championships in Reno. While the team did not win, the judges were impressed with the team's presentation and their strength in core values. Congrats to all the IES Robotics team members!

PINE NUTS: My Olympic Romance
With the Olympic Games upon us, I feel compelled to confess, in full, to a lapse of moral judgement that long ago cost yours truly an Olympic berth. This true confession comes with a caveat to young athletes who aspire to compete in the Games, “Don’t do as I did.”

It all started with a high school assembly, when newly minted Olympic Decathlon Champion Rafer Johnson spoke to our student body. He was an inspirational speaker, and he planted in my feverish brain a resolve to be an Olympic athlete. Forget Doctor, lawyer or Indian Chief, I was determined to be an Olympian.

Lakeside Lawyers was offered an opportunity to sponsor the Incline High School basketball teams this year and gladly accepted. We even sponsored a “white-out” game for homecoming Friday night. The student section was rowdy especially when Jeremy Krenek won them free pizza from Azzara’s by making a layup, free throw, and three-point shot in under 30 seconds between the 1st and 2nd quarter of the game. It was a fun night thanks to dominant victories by the IHS boys and girls teams who are both #1 in the State of Nevada. Special thanks to Azzara’s for providing the pizza.

New Services Available at the Incline Village Library

... The Incline Village Library also offers weekend access to the public meeting room and will soon launch the Library To Go lending kiosk. Library To Go is like a vending machine for books where children and adults can choose and check out their next great read, even when the library is closed.

Washoe County Library System Director Jeff Scott says, “We are thrilled to be able to provide 24/7 library services at the Incline Village Library through our new library bookmachine. This book vending machine can hold over 200 books and provides a variety of materials for all ages. One of the top needs as identified by our strategic planning process was access to books and access to a variety of books.”

2022 marks the 12th annual Ullr Fest held at Diamond Peak Ski Resort and benefits the Diamond Peak Ski Education Foundation (DP Ski Team).

This popular annual community event features a torchlight parade, a bonfire, music, raffles, food & drink specials, and a lot of smiles! The entire event is being held outdoors this year, so dress in your best Ullr Festival costumes and pray for snow.

A Message from Kim Warren, TCF's Outgoing Executive Director

Alyce, we welcome you with great enthusiasm and with open arms and hearts. You have already been an incredible asset to TCF through your commitment, service, and leadership as a TCF parent, volunteer, and board member. We are so grateful you are stepping into the ED leadership position full of zest!

TCF family and fans, it has been an honor to serve as TCF's executive director for five years. I will be eternally grateful for the support and encouragement I have received. As a small nonprofit, we are only able to accomplish the valuable work we do because of the help from our community. Thank you!

Alyce and I will work closely together over the next two months to ensure a smooth and successful transition. With Alyce's leadership and passion, support from our wonderful families and incredible Board, and with the generosity from our phenomenal community, TCF will continue to thrive.

It is with a full heart and much excitement that I pass the ED torch to Alyce Cady. I am excited about TCF's next chapter and mine. I will get to soak up more time with Nash, travel over summer, and work on a children's book. You'll still bump into me around town, see me on TCF's sideline cheering, and find me on the Fall Fest dance floor boogying.

I am filled with immense gratitude for my time at TCF and I hold great hope for what's ahead. Thank you for being a part of the journey.
