The Incline Boosters Club provides support to academics, athletics, and performing arts programs at Incline High School. This parent organization, chartered in 1969, is a Not-for-Profit and offers general sponsorship for all students and staff of Incline High School by stepping in where the district leaves off.

PILE BURNING FEBRUARY 7TH – 11TH, 2022 - Weather and fuel conditions permitting, the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District anticipates pile burning February 7 - 11, 2022 north of Bridger Court, Incline Village, NV.

Smoke resulting from the pile burns will affect the surrounding areas for approximately 48-72 hours. For people that are smoke sensitive, we suggest to please stay inside and close your windows and doors until the smoke dissipates.

We thank the community for your patience and understanding with the short-term smoke impacts, realizing that improving forest health and fire safety are the long-term benefits.

Fear of war begets war as both sides arm-up to pre-empt an attack by the other, and so we find ourselves today fearing yet another self-imposed escalation. With thousands of troops stationed on Ukraine’s border, Russia is telling Ukraine, “If you continue to court NATO we will take whatever action necessary to stop the expansion of NATO. Meanwhile, NATO countries continue to arm Ukraine against a possible invasion, neither side wanting to show a sign of weakness.
Yet, 2022, just might be the calendar year when mankind gazes into a mirror and sees lust for sphere of influence for the cancer it is on the human heart.

EPIC Elizabeth Pitcairn in Concert - Feb 11 through Feb 20, 2022. The Orchestra and Chorus will perform Bach's Magnificat. This is followed by Elizabeth Pitcairn, performing on the 'Red Mendelssohn Stradivarius' violin, performing Wieniawski's famous Violin Concerto #2 with the Orchestra:

Henri Wieniaswki was the most famous violinist of his time. At age 9, he was granted special permissions to become a student at the Paris Conservatoire (being under age 12, and also being from Poland). About two years later, he entered and won first prize at the Graduate's Competition - an astounding accomplishment, still being too young to even qualify for admission.

Although formidable in all ways, Wieniawski was especially expert in bowing styles, and this concerto displays one of his favorite techniques: The up-bow "flying spiccato", which the greatest of players (including Liz) can contain maintain for an indefinite number of notes. This technique appears many times in the first and 3rd movements.

This concerto is a 'standard', and is generally counted among the top 10 violin concertos of all time. But Wieniaswki developed heart trouble at a relatively young age, and began taking breaks within concerts from age 35 onwards. He died in 1880 at age 45.

Taylor Garces, a senior at Sierra Nevada University, has started a business venture serving locals in Incline Village who need electronic waste services.

Garces’ business, TreeTech, seeks to repurpose and redistribute electronics to maintain a sustainable balance with advanced technology. Garces helps recycle or repair electronic waste, and runs his business out of his garage.

“December 8, 2021, is when I posted my idea and company - Tree Tech,” Garces said. “I received over 100 likes and 32 comments in an hour. Definitely not the reaction I was expecting. Read more...

Incline High School extends successful canned food drive! The Incline High School National Honor Society is extending a canned food drive planned for just the month of January to help support their community. Senior Emma Midgley and two of her honor society classmates, Emily and Christina, decided to put together the drive when they saw how much turmoil their community had endured over the last year.

“With everything that’s going on, including COVID and things like that, we figured a food drive would be a great way to give back to the people who haven’t been able to work because of the pandemic,” said Midgley. “They’re people who could benefit from having more food. We figured since people would be going to Raley’s, it’s something they could just do on their way in, and we though we could get a lot of food.”

The three members of the honor society were looking for a way to give back to their community and decided that a food drive was the perfect way to help those who had affected by hardship.

The donation bins for the drive are located at Raley’s in Incline Village and Safeway in Kings Beach near the front doors of the stores. All proceeds from the drive will go to Sierra Community House in Kings Beach and Friends in Service Helping (FISH) in Carson City. Both organizations serve those in need of food.

Midgley said one of the greatest challenges so far has been getting the word out there to people around town.

“Reaching out to the community is the major thing,” said Midgley. “I created a Facebook account just to post [a promotion]. We don’t really have a way to get it to people widespread. So that’s been kind of a challenge.”
