Lake Tahoe Posts - Incline Village & Crystal Bay

The Tahoe Fund and EarthViews released the first-ever “Street View” style map of all 72 miles of Lake Tahoe’s shoreline. This new, interactive Lake Tahoe ShoreView Map offers a 360-degree view of the shoreline, as well as underwater views and water quality data.

“This map allows people to see Tahoe like never before,” said Amy Berry, CEO of the Tahoe Fund. “You can tour Emerald Bay, ‘paddle’ through the iconic rocks of Sand Harbor, or explore the hidden beaches along the East Shore with just the click of a button. Best of all, this new tool is bringing a wealth of data and information to scientists and conservation organizations working to improve the health of the Lake.”

University of Nevada skiing alum, ski team boosters, the University athletic department and administration have been hard at work to reinstate the Nevada Ski Team to NCAA Division 1! Join us in celebrating this monumental occasion at “Ski Ball,” Saturday, November 5th (6pm) at Winters Creek Lodge at Mt. Rose - Ski Tahoe! Tickets can be purchased at the link below, either for a table of 10, or individually. After only a week of sales, they’re going fast—so grab them while you can.

“Ski Ball” will include a catered meal, a silent and live auction, the premier of the film, "UNR Legends of The Fall Line," a live performance from the Eric Henry Andersen Band, and several other surprises you’ll have to be there to experience.

Confirmed notable attendees include: Daron Rahlves (4-time Olympian and one of the most decorated U.S. ski racers in history), Travis Ganong (2-time Olympian and World Cup gold medalist), University of Nevada President, Brian Sandoval, University Athletic Director, Stephanie Rempe, and Nevada Skiing head coach, Mihaela Kosi.

The Incline Education Fund worked with the Nevada First-Gen Network to pilot a mentoring program for Incline Middle School students this summer.

The backstory: Nevada State Senator Heidi Seevers Gansert sponsored a bill in 2021 that led to the creation of the Nevada First-Gen Network (NFGN), a statewide initiative to help students across Nevada graduate from high school and achieve higher education.
Gansert was familiar with the 20+ year success of UNR’s Dean’s Future Scholars (DFS) mentoring program and wanted to find a way to expand that model throughout the state.

DFS Director, Dr. Mariluz Garcia agreed to pilot a program to find a way to do just that. She reached out to the Incline Education Fund to see if they would be interested in collaborating on a summer camp for students in Incline Village. The NFGN is an extension of that program.

The Incline summer camp ran 4 days/week for 3 weeks and gave the Incline Middle School (IMS) students an opportunity to gain college exposure through University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) college visits, tours and programming. IMS students were bussed to Reno twice/week to take part in activities on the UNR campus and were in Incline Village the other two days/week. Students spent mornings participating in STEM projects and learning about the many colleges at UNR and the other half of the day learning about leadership, team-building and just having fun. While in Incline, the Incline Education Fund coordinated the STEM programming for students with the UC Davis TERC program and partnered with IVGID, Pet Network and High Altitude Fitness for their outdoor activities.

The beauty of the program is that the NFGN mentors are graduates of the program themselves. They understand the importance of the mentorship piece and have pledged to continue mentoring these students throughout the school year and beyond. Regular check-in opportunities throughout the year are designed to deepen those relationships and help keep students engaged and on a path toward college or a vocation.

Update on fall days of operation for Crosby's. We will be closing on Wednesday's starting on this Wednesday, September 7th, throughout the fall. Our new regular days and hours will be Thursday thru Tuesday, 8:30AM until 9PM for dining and until 10PM for the bar / cocktails.

Incline Justice Court finds new home, role for constable - Miranda Jacobson / Tahoe Daily Tribune (August 28, 2022)
The Incline Justice Center has found a new home after a long search since finding out its current location would be sold in June 2021. The location of the court, currently at 865 Tahoe Boulevard, will relocate to 855 Alder Avenue, an existing Washoe County facility that used to house the Forest Service.

Washoe County Assistant County Manager Kate Thomas has been working on the transition with Judge Alan Tiras in order to create the perfect space to continue existing services provided by the court.

“The Community Center on Alder was opened in 2018 to provide a gathering space for seniors and other community members including some leased space for the USFS,” said Thomas. “During the pandemic, the facility was closed and subsequent discussions with USFS to vacate their lease as their workforce was moved to a virtual operation allowed the perfect opportunity to move the Incline Justice Court into the space following some remodeling.”

Incline High School Highlander Football team will take on Saint Vincent High School from Petaluma, California this Saturday 9/3 @ 6pm at Incline High School. If you haven't gotten your tickets yet, skip the lines and buy your IHS Booster membership which includes access for 4 to all home games, including football, basketball, volleyball, etc. If you sign up before Friday 9/2, your name will be on a list and you can skip the line! All IHS students attend games for free.
Booster membership and banners are for a given school year, so if you haven't renewed or signed up for this year, please do so.
There are two basic annual memberships:
Family Membership $75 (access for 4 to all home games and select booster events)
Family Banner $500 (includes family membership + personalized banner in the large gym)
