One beloved taxidermy black bear at the Donner Memorial State Park Visitor Center recently got a makeover. Last week the bear was cleaned, the base elements were enhanced, and the Tecno Displays team encased the exhibit!
Encasing the bear protects it from wear and tear and protects other exhibits from any bugs ? that may be attracted by the bear before encasement.
This is only phase one! The next steps are:
• Designing an interpretive panel to accompany this new display exhibit,
• Replicating exhibit railing to match the other exhibits so this bear display fits in with the other exhibits,
• Incorporating additional natural history interpretive components throughout the visitor center in the future.
Thank you donors Bob and Marcy Crowley for funding education programming and projects at Donner Memorial State Park. Their generosity not only allowed for this project to be completed efficiently but also brought free-of-cost rafting excursions!
