With Lake Tahoe area resorts preparing to welcome the return of winter and kick off ski season, the Tahoe Fund announced that the Plates for Powder program is back after a brief COVID-caused hiatus. Those who purchase a new Lake Tahoe license plate in either California or Nevada before April 1, 2022 through the “Plates for Powder” program receive a free lift ticket to one of eight participating Tahoe downhill or Nordic resorts, or a Tahoe City Sports Park season pass to be used during the 2021-22 winter season, while supplies last.

We are SO excited to announce that discounted shopping, free appetizers, drinks, and fun are BACK for this year's Ladies Night! Join us for a night of fun on Tuesday, November 23rd at our Donner Pass location!

Important update on the mountain:

While we were hoping to keep the ski & ride season going this weekend, Mother Nature has other plans. Due to warm temps, some rain, and melting snowpack, we will be closed for skiing and riding this weekend. Daily operations are scheduled to kick off on November 24, but we will continue to assess snowpack and open sooner if conditions permit.

Although the current snowpack doesn’t allow for skiing, it is primed for snowmaking. The divots and depressions are filled in, the ground is getting cold, and the travel routes are established. As soon as temps get low enough, our crews will be firing up the snow guns to help prep the slopes so we can all get us back out there!

The Diamond Peak Ski Education Foundation/Ski Team is looking for a few good ski coaches for the upcoming 2021-22 season. We are located in beautiful Incline Village, Nevada, on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe at Diamond Peak Ski Resort. You can work full-time, part-time or weekends only. Dr. Jernick specializes in hospice and palliative medicine, providing comprehensive comfort care to patients with serious or life-limiting illnesses, as well as support for the patients’ families. Dr. Jernick attended medical school at the Georgetown University School of Medicine. She completed her family and community medicine residency and her hospice and palliative medicine fellowship at the UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program. I read an article in the New York Times by Damien Cave that gave me a shiver of renewable hope that there might be a mere mortal out there who could actually, should prayer fail, save us. Andrew Forest is his name, an Australian mining magnate who is coming in out of the cold to perhaps take the lead in the climate change revolution. Go Andrew! I only weigh 150 pounds, and you can see my haymaker coming from last week, but I’m at your back.
