2022 marks the 12th annual Ullr Fest held at Diamond Peak Ski Resort and benefits the Diamond Peak Ski Education Foundation (DP Ski Team).

This popular annual community event features a torchlight parade, a bonfire, music, raffles, food & drink specials, and a lot of smiles! The entire event is being held outdoors this year, so dress in your best Ullr Festival costumes and pray for snow.

A Message from Kim Warren, TCF's Outgoing Executive Director

Alyce, we welcome you with great enthusiasm and with open arms and hearts. You have already been an incredible asset to TCF through your commitment, service, and leadership as a TCF parent, volunteer, and board member. We are so grateful you are stepping into the ED leadership position full of zest!

TCF family and fans, it has been an honor to serve as TCF's executive director for five years. I will be eternally grateful for the support and encouragement I have received. As a small nonprofit, we are only able to accomplish the valuable work we do because of the help from our community. Thank you!

Alyce and I will work closely together over the next two months to ensure a smooth and successful transition. With Alyce's leadership and passion, support from our wonderful families and incredible Board, and with the generosity from our phenomenal community, TCF will continue to thrive.

It is with a full heart and much excitement that I pass the ED torch to Alyce Cady. I am excited about TCF's next chapter and mine. I will get to soak up more time with Nash, travel over summer, and work on a children's book. You'll still bump into me around town, see me on TCF's sideline cheering, and find me on the Fall Fest dance floor boogying.

I am filled with immense gratitude for my time at TCF and I hold great hope for what's ahead. Thank you for being a part of the journey.

When world renowned climber Alex Lowe was tragically lost in a deadly avalanche, his best friend and climbing partner went on to marry his widow and help raise his three sons. This profoundly intimate film from eldest son Max captures the family’s intense personal journey toward understanding as they finally lay him to rest, and chronicles Max’s arduous journey to return to the spot where his father perished.

The Recreate Responsibly Coalition aspires for everyone to have a holistic outdoor experience by advancing all aspects of responsible recreation: keeping yourself, others, and outdoor places safe; accessing outdoor benefits essential to the human experience; and building an inclusive outdoors.

The Tahoe Fund is currently seeking to collaborate with organizations to develop Signature and Premier Projects with fundraising goals of $5,000-$1,000,000 that align with the following program areas:

**PROJECTS SEEKING 2022 SUPPORT SHOULD SUBMIT BY JANUARY 31, 2022.**

Forest Health: The goal is to fund innovative solutions that will increase the pace and scale of forest restoration in the Tahoe Basin.

Lake Clarity/Water Quality/Lake Health: The goal is to complement and support key stakeholders’ efforts to improve lake clarity, water quality, and lake health. They are particularly interested in projects with a focus on aquatic invasive species, near shore water quality, and Upper Truckee watershed restoration.

Sustainable Recreation: They are interested in sustainable outdoor recreation projects that will improve quality of experience and equity of access, while minimizing impacts on natural resources in Tahoe.

Stewardship: They want to inspire more people to take care of Tahoe by funding projects that increase environmental awareness and promote behavioral change.

Transportation: Contribute innovative solutions to current and future transportation efforts; especially those that help solve peak congestion issues.

At this stage, the Tahoe Fund is most interested in learning the basic details of the project, the benefit to the Tahoe Basin, the alignment with a specific goal area, the general timeline, and a budget range.


The Tahoe Prosperity Center recently launched a survey of community members to determine what is needed to make our Lake Tahoe communities a place where everyone can live, work, play, and thrive. Please complete this survey to have your say on Tahoe's future!

In recognition of civil rights activist Martin Luther King, Jr., whose legacy was celebrated yesterday during the annual holiday, Hill stated: “Illegal and offensive racial covenants are still tied to many older properties in Washoe County. I’m proud to utilize my Special District Funds to help people record a Declaration of Removal of Discriminatory Restriction without the typical $43 fee, to disavow restrictive deeds and covenants in property documents.” #bettertogether #MLKDay
