The tour finishes where we picked you up at Raley’s parking lot in Incline Village, close to: Rookies, The Local, Alibi, Bite Tahoe, and Fredrick’s.

As small local business owners, we believe in giving back whenever we can. Another recipient of our charitable giving this year is Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care in South Lake Tahoe, which helps wildlife from all around the lake and surrounding areas. This is a 27-acre facility made possible by the generous donations of locals. Since opening in 1978, this facility, with paid staff and volunteers, has successfully cared for and released over 15,000 wild birds and animals. We thought that this was a worthy effort to get behind.

Jason’s Beachside Grille located in the heart of King's Beach, North Lake Tahoe, is a family-friendly American restaurant offering spectacular lake views on our scenic lakefront deck and grassy sandbar area.

Congratulations to the Norberg-Norton Family who welcomed Barton Memorial Hospital's first baby of 2022! Baby Sloan was born on New Year's Day, Saturday, January 1st, to parents Drew Norberg and Austin Norton. The family was presented with a wagon filled with gifts donated by local businesses, a tradition of the health care system and community to celebrate the occasion.

This past weekend, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Incline Patrol Deputies were called to perform a welfare check on 92-year-old Valia and her 94-year-old home-bound husband. The couple’s in-home nurse was unable to get to them because the home was snowed in. Deputies arrived to find the driveway covered with several feet of snow — and Valia’s car buried in snow. Using a very nice neighbor’s snowblower — Sergeant Colacurcio, along with Deputies Tone, Vacca, Simmons, and Raglen cleared Valia’s driveway and unburied her vehicle. Valia can now drive to the store for food and supplies, she and her husband’s home health nurse can ensure the couple’s safety, and emergency services (if needed) have access.

We have over 1000 fire hydrants within our fire jurisdiction. With the recent snowstorms and more on the way, you may see us out and about digging out fire hydrants.

“Can You Dig It” and adopt a hydrant closest to your home or business, keeping it clear of snow and debris? You will be helping to keep our community safe. We appreciate the members of our community who already maintain hydrants in their neighborhood and encourage everyone to participate.

Village Terrain Park Snowboard Clinic Series for 6th thru 8th Grade Students.
Looking to take your park skills to the next level this season? Local 6-8th grade advanced riders are invited to join Coach Cedar Gately for a 6-week freestyle snowboard clinic series in the Village Terrain Park at Diamond Peak. Clinics will cover topics such as park etiquette, spins, boxes, jumps, rails, grabs, terminology and history. Participants must be able to link turns on all blue and most black runs and perform basic freestyle maneuvers.

2022 Midweek Program
Wednesdays, January 12 – February 16, 2022 (2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
Fee: $360 for 6 clinic midweek series

2022 Weekend Program
Sundays, January 23 – March 13, 2022 (2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
No clinic during President's Week - 2/20 & 2/27
Fees: $420 for 6 clinic Sunday series

Details & Registration
Must be a 6-8th grader and have an active IVGID Picture Pass to participate.
Fees do not include lift tickets or equipment. Season passes are recommended and can be purchased online.
Helmets are required.
Participants will meet on the snow behind the Base Lodge, near the trail map sign.
Space is limited. Pre-registration is required. Register with the Rec Center - online at Register.YourTahoePlace.com, by phone (775-832-1310) or visit the Recreation Center (980 Incline Way).

About the Instructor: Cedar Gately
Cedar grew up in sunny Santa Barbara with a skateboard underfoot and dreams of snow in his future. He took a chance and moved to Incline Village as a young adult to further pursue his passion for snowboarding. Shortly after the move, he took his experience as Director of the skate camp back home and founded the Village Skate School with IVGID. He is an experienced terrain park snowboarder and is passionate about spreading his knowledge to the next generation. Riding with Cedar you can expect to learn new tricks, while having fun and making connections along the way. Cedar is also a videographer, the creator of the "Thursdays in the Village" series on Instagram and recent winner of the Diamond Cut Video Competition.
