Human Whisperers Radio is the broadcast arm of The Community School for Human Arts and the MAPPS Program. We think of our work as a social enterprise that strives toward a more equitable distribution of educational tools normally reserved for corporate human resources departments or personalized career coaches.

We are dedicated to lifting up diverse populations through our programs, not just in the United States but around the world. And we are guided by the fundamental belief that nurturing individual competence and resilience is key to our collective well-being, resulting in a healthier and more self-sustaining global community.

Our broadcasts are intended to create and promote a facilitative and inclusive dialog that we hope in return will encourage people to listen, learn and then seek action from a place of truthful shared awareness from which solutions can emerge. Our programs deliver a unique form of social and emotional education based on personal and professional development and through a process that promotes human well-being by expanding people’s capabilities to be and to flourish and gives them the power to generate employment + income.

We motivate individuals from diverse backgrounds to unearth their hidden talents for a harmonious path forward. In this process, they can discover their unique contribution to the world.

The Diamond Peak Ski Education Foundation (DPSEF) is a unique non-profit that provides area athletes with an exceptional opportunity to build strong character through our skiing programs.

Did you know... only 60% of our operating budget comes from tuition; the remainder is raised via donations, events, and hosting races for the Far West and Tahoe Race Series ski racers in the basin.

Our Vision is to be an internationally recognized alpine ski team renowned for cultivating a culture of excellence and developing world-class athletes of outstanding character. Our values include athletic excellence, character, growth mindset, sportsmanship, integrity, teamwork, independence, sustainability, and improvement. We are proud to award significant need-based scholarships to Incline Village/Crystal Bay youth to give them access to our ski programs through scholarships.

Our annual online auction is our single largest fundraising effort and we invite you to participate. The auction will open at 3pm on March 5th with a launch party hosted at Diamond Peak Ski Resort's Loft Bar, and live on youtube. Bidding will be open until March 12th.

PINE NUTS: She Cleaned City Hall Until She Became Mayor
In Russia’s managed democracy of this 21st century, sometimes, though not often, an underdog candidate will actually win an election. It’s rare as hens’ teeth, but it happened a couple years ago in the tiny village of Povalikhino. The incombent mayor was in desperate need of an opponent to fill out his official looking ballot, but everybody knew the odds, and nobody would step-up. So the mayor asked city hall janitor, Marina Udgodskaya, if she might be willing to place her good name on the ballot as his opponent. Marina must have rolled her eyes and thought, “Oh well, what the hell!” Because she acceded, and amazingly, she won.

Marina suddenly found herself to be the honorable mayor of Povalikhino, and of course her first order of business was to hire a reliable replacement to clean city hall, then the good mayor took to procuring streetlights for the village. Such an anomaly can happen in a small Russian village, but in cities or national elections…Nyet.

Tahoe Weekly celebrates our 40th anniversary! Feb. 18 marked Tahoe Weekly’s 40th anniversary. Tahoe Weekly's first edition in 1982 featured a photograph by Vance Fox of a skier cliff jumping near the horse trails in Olympic Valley. The cover for this 40th anniversary edition out on stands until March 8 is a nod to that first cover featuring Chuck Patterson in the Tahoe back country photographed by Matt Bansak. The magazine is still locally owned and operated.
