Help us kick off Earth Month by participating in Tahoe's Trash Pickup Challenge- Earth Month Edition, April 1 - 30! Together we can keep our beautiful Tahoe environment clean and litter free. All month long we encourage you to go out and pick up any litter that you see! Whether you're just walking to school or the store, or heading out for an hour long cleanup at your favorite Tahoe spot, make sure to leave it better than you found it by picking up any litter that you see along the way.

Report what you find and double your impact by using the "That's Not Natural" report on the Citizen Science Tahoe App (citizensciencetahoe.org). Or fill in a data card (provided in cleanup kits) and either drop it off where you borrowed cleanup supplies or email it to events@keeptahoeblue.org.

It's almost that time of year to enjoy a bike ride through the forest!

Early April 2022 - still quite a bit of snow in the Marlette Lake basin on the way to the Flume Trail. Sunny aspects are pretty clear but still lots of snow in the shady parts of the trail. We are expecting that by the second week of May it should be pretty clear and we will begin mountain bike rentals and shuttles if the current no storm weather continues.

We are looking for employees for summer! Bike Mechanics, bike fitters, front counter, shuttle drivers. Send a message if interested. Full or part time and we usually operate until November for those ski area people looking for more than a three month job for the summer. (Second shot is last early summer).

PINE NUTS: We’re Going to the Dogs and that’s a Good Thing
The world is going to the dogs and that’s a good thing. There are more dogs in San Francisco today than people. Emperor Norton himself had two dogs, Lazarus & Bummer. When Laz & Bum expired they were regally stuffed by a taxidermist to become a popular display above the swinging doors of a swinging downtown saloon. I don’t know if our little village of Incline has more dogs than people, but if not, we’re gaining on it. I know a good many dogs by their first names, because I carry milk bone treats with me everywhere I go, and from Daisy to Georgia, they all come running.
Dogs are in possession of attributes that we humans should copy and recapture as we emerge from this infernal pandemic, for they are easy-going, spontaneous, curious, playful and loveable. Their joy of life is contagious.
