LIVE.WORK.PLAY. is IVCBA's community magazine that is delivered to residents, as well as businesses throughout Incline Village and Crystal Bay.

FLU VACCINES AVAILABLE ~ The North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District (NLTFPD) will be offering flu vaccinations to individuals over the age of 8 beginning September 16, 2022, for as long as supplies last. Vaccines administered by NLTFPD will be offered at the Fire District’s main station locatedat 875 Tanager Street. Walk-ins are welcome. Vaccines will not be available at the Crystal Bay or Mount Rose Stations.

Each vaccine is $40.00, payable by cash, check or credit card. Please note, if you are a Medicare patient, please visit your primary healthcare provider, Incline Village Community Hospital or local grocery or drug store Pharmacy for your vaccine. The Fire District cannot accept Medicare for vaccines. To make an appointment, you may call 775-831-0351, ext. 0.

Please note that our vaccines are only available to individuals 8 years of age and older and that we recommend younger children be taken to their pediatrician. We will not be offering the high dose version of the vaccine this year. For your convenience, Fire District personnel are available to visit homes or businesses by appointment to administer your vaccine. There is no additional charge for this service however, the $40.00 vaccine fee still applies. Please wait until any fever, cough, cold or flu like symptoms have resolved before coming to see us.

Since 2001, Trail of Treats and Terror has been an Incline Village tradition. The Incline Village General Improvement District (IVGID) collaborates with community partners to produce a haunted trail for community members to travel along and have a safe and fun Halloween celebration.....at no cost. There are many ways to get involved including making a donation, helping plan the event, setting up a spooky scene, and more.

HIRING - LEAD MIGHTY MITES COACH at Diamond Peak Ski Team, Incline Village, NV, Lake Tahoe
The Diamond Peak Ski Education Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization whose mission is to provide a year-round program to develop each athlete's skill, grit, and integrity and to inspire and empower each of their athletes to achieve their personal goals in athletics and life. Located on the shores of Lake Tahoe, this unique and special community is surrounded by mountains offering hundreds of miles of hiking and biking trails, dozens of beaches, world- renowned downhill, and Nordic skiing and snow sports of all kinds. In addition, there are many nationally recognized Lake Tahoe events, including music festivals, concerts, food pairings, and sporting events that take place each season.
Summary:
The Lead Mighty Mite Coach is responsible for all the management and day-to-day operations for the entire Mighty Mite program of 80 athletes and 8 staff/coaches. This is a 40 hours week, 4/5-month salaried position, reporting directly to the Program Director.
Summary of Duties:
• Mighty Mites (MM) is a 10-week long weekend and Wednesday, Thursday program for 6 to 9-year-olds, focusing on ski fundamentals and building a love for the sport.
• Work directly with the Program Director and Head Coach to create a creative, fun, learning-based ski program and progression.
• Communicate and manage MM staff.
• Communicate with the athlete's families on scheduling and the program format.
• Communicate the MM training philosophy and goals. Ensure consistency of all MM groups, appropriate goal setting, development plans, and athlete feedback. Ensure a consistent theme and skills progression throughout the different groups.
• Communicate the team behavior philosophy and ensure adherence to this philosophy.
• Provide a monthly report to the Program Director on key activities, the status of the program, and additional resources required.
Skills
• The applicant needs to have related experience managing and operating a team and be familiar with ski team operations and organization. Education or experience in childcare or early childhood education is recommended as well as a passion for teaching children. Strong communication, leadership, and management skills, as well as collaborative decision-making ability, are desired. Communication with staff, parents, athletes and other coaches is paramount. The ability to work under pressure and unassisted will be necessary.

The Tahoe Fund and EarthViews released the first-ever “Street View” style map of all 72 miles of Lake Tahoe’s shoreline. This new, interactive Lake Tahoe ShoreView Map offers a 360-degree view of the shoreline, as well as underwater views and water quality data.

“This map allows people to see Tahoe like never before,” said Amy Berry, CEO of the Tahoe Fund. “You can tour Emerald Bay, ‘paddle’ through the iconic rocks of Sand Harbor, or explore the hidden beaches along the East Shore with just the click of a button. Best of all, this new tool is bringing a wealth of data and information to scientists and conservation organizations working to improve the health of the Lake.”

University of Nevada skiing alum, ski team boosters, the University athletic department and administration have been hard at work to reinstate the Nevada Ski Team to NCAA Division 1! Join us in celebrating this monumental occasion at “Ski Ball,” Saturday, November 5th (6pm) at Winters Creek Lodge at Mt. Rose - Ski Tahoe! Tickets can be purchased at the link below, either for a table of 10, or individually. After only a week of sales, they’re going fast—so grab them while you can.

“Ski Ball” will include a catered meal, a silent and live auction, the premier of the film, "UNR Legends of The Fall Line," a live performance from the Eric Henry Andersen Band, and several other surprises you’ll have to be there to experience.

Confirmed notable attendees include: Daron Rahlves (4-time Olympian and one of the most decorated U.S. ski racers in history), Travis Ganong (2-time Olympian and World Cup gold medalist), University of Nevada President, Brian Sandoval, University Athletic Director, Stephanie Rempe, and Nevada Skiing head coach, Mihaela Kosi.
