Event Description:

Set on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe, Tahoe City Art by the Lake gives visitors a special opportunity to meet with 30 artisans showcasing a variety of arts and crafts including photography, paintings, ceramics, jewelry, and more, providing a unique venue for patrons to view handmade creations while enjoying the outdoors.

Boatworks Mall in Tahoe City plays host to this event which spreads across the open grassy area overlooking stunning Lake Tahoe between the mall and the Tahoe City Marina at 760 N. Lake Boulevard right off Highway 28. Loved, local guitarist Robbie Gade will play each day from 11:30am – 4:00pm to enjoy while shopping. Some of this year's talented artists participating in the event include:

Jewelry

Gayle Mayhew, Fun Girls Jewelry, creates interesting, original, and fun adornments for those who view their ornamental choices as intrinsic to their personal expression. Her design intention is to enhance the sense of the individual, and to diminish the mundane and pervasive generic of big box-hood. Gayle says she considers her tempting bits of glass (created from melting rods of Italian glass) as little paintings. She combines these one-of-a-kind components with fabulous natural gemstones, pearls, or whatever interests her eye, to build whimsical wearable art pieces that enhance the wearer's personal story.

Photography

Darren Marshall Photography adores the remote wilderness areas of the western United States, the open spaces and open gates of the Bureau of Land Management lands, as well as the National Parks. Most of Darren’s recent work is centered in the desert southwest, Yosemite and Death Valley, and the old growth forests along the California north coast. His imagery varies from small scenes like flower portraits, mud cracks, and flowing water. “I spend days creating intimate dunes and forest scenes shots with a long telephoto long lens, in addition to the grand, sometimes iconic landscapes captured with a wide angle lens,” says Darren.

Painting

Ehi Obinyan, Obinyan Studios, is an energetic and free-spirited artist who has developed mastery for the combined use of watercolor and gouache medium he calls “WaterCombo.” He is a product of the Art School of Painting & General Arts at the famous Federal Polytechnic college in Nigeria where he graduated with distinctions. Embodying an infectious enthusiasm for life, Ehi is eclectic in his chosen theme and distinct in style. Passion and zeal rule his brushes as he works with gouache, acrylic and oil medium. Many of his works draw their inspiration from a reservoir of deep spiritual influences that stretch from the ancient Kingdom of Benin through to the modern tech world.

Tahoe City Art by the Lake is presented by Boatworks at Lake Tahoe. For more information about the event, contact Pacific Fine Arts Festivals at (209) 267-4394 or visit https://www.pacificfinearts.com/. You can also see more information on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest.
