Event Description:

Scott Forrest Fine Art Studio is the working studio of Abstract Expressionist Scott Forrest. The studio also hosts the work of Artists Rasjad Hopkins, Kenneth J. Whitney and Yvonne McGrath in the studio's Main Gallery and Ruby Rose Gallery.

Each of Scott Forrest's paintings takes on its own unique voice, some rhythmic and textural, others featuring Forrest’s signature bold and sweeping brush strokes as seen in ancient Japanese Ink Painting. Stop in the studio and you may find Forrest working on his latest addition to the "Forrest Collection."

"Rasjad Hopkins has been influencing the creative market for decades. An artist, publisher, author, gallery director and former owner of some of the most influential galleries in the United States, Hopkins has truly made his mark. Now a full time painter, he devotes his time to the creation of serene original landscapes, bringing both sense of calm and natural balance into form." - Ashley Sorenson, Main Street Gallery, Park City, Utah

Kenneth J Whitney has worked restoring antique furniture and had his own antique store on Newport Blvd. in Costa Mesa, California, for seventeen years. He currently designs and creates carved furniture, detailed carved mahogany rooms, wood sculpture, and carvings. He also creates acrylic paintings, mounted in original handmade frames. In 2020, Ken was the main subject of a documentary short by art filmmaker Eric Minh Swenson.

Yvonne McGrath creates original paintings of “Fantasy Flowers” that come to life through their dance with the viewer. Like the artist herself, they are bold and timeless yet affirm the importance of nurturing one’s life in the moment. McGrath describes the creative process as "an emotional response” to the flower as it emerges. As a singer, McGrath’s performance on her album, "Yvonne, In Private," echoes these enduring qualities through perennial favorites and originals, including songs arranged by her husband, Jim McGrath, reverberating a deep-rooted nature of reciprocity.

Make Tahoe will be your docent. The Make Tahoe Records "Freshly Groomed Vinyl" exhibit featuring new vinyl, including independent and emerging musical artists will also be on site. Enjoy listening to the sounds of Yvonne McGrath's "Yvonne, In Private" to complete your Sound and Vision experience at Scott Forrest Fine Art Studio.
