Event Description:
It is not the soil itself – It’s the soil life that is the most important element in establishing a healthy garden. Learn the basics of soil structure and composition, sustainable and ecological methods of creating healthy soil, composting, worm farms, nutrient teas and much more. Explore the theory of building soil through Hugelkultur, Sheet Mulch, and Chop-n-Drop methods, followed by a hands-on experience building soil for the FRC Demonstration Food Garden. Participants may never buy soil again after learning these methods! Please bring gloves and small hand tools to workshop. May 7 & 8, register at www.ltccconnect.com ($45)
