Bill Watson’s presentation will educate our North Tahoe community about the historical and modern significance of the Marlette Water System and its flumes. Known as a remarkable feat of engineering, the water system has played a crucial role in the region's development and continues to operate today. From the logging companies that supplied timber for the Comstock Lode's booming mining operations to the Marlette Water System that provided essential drinking water, Watson will delve into the stories of the flumes, railroads, and the people behind these monumental engineering feats.
