McAvoy Layne is Mark Twain, recounting the adventures that led Samuel Clemens to Lake Tahoe for a “veritable habitation with the gods.”
Twain's Sandwich Islands
In Mark Twain’s Letters from the Sandwich Islands, (Hawaii), “The Sandwich Islands are one long slumbering Sabbath. The good that die there experience no change, for they fall asleep in one heaven, and wake up in another.”
