Ron & Maureen Ashley Oasis Chamber Music Series: Landscapes in Sound
Join us on a journey across vivid musical terrains, from the brooding Nordic lyricism of Sibelius’s String Trio in G minor to the sweeping colors and expansive horizons of Maria Newman’s Colors of the Desert. The program concludes with Dvořák’s beloved String Quintet No. 3 in E-flat Major, Op. 97 “American,” a radiant work inspired by the composer’s time in the United States. Featuring an extra viola and written a month after his famous “American” String Quartet, the quintet is infused with folk spirit and open-air warmth.
Classical Tahoe’s Chamber Concert Series at the Oasis is held on the exquisite lakefront estate of Ron and Maureen Ashley. Tickets for the chamber concerts, including a wine and hors d’oeuvres reception.
