Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor, Op. 27, No. 2, “Moonlight” (1801)
Piano Sonata No. 21 in C major, Op. 53, “Waldstein” (1804)

A new addition to the Festival, this intimate recital features acclaimed pianist Gilles Vonsattel performing Beethoven sonatas in a private Incline Village residence. This program spans Beethoven’s early to heroic periods, from the expansive Sonata No. 4 in E-flat Major, Op. 7 “Grand”, to the hauntingly lyrical “Moonlight” Sonata, and the joyous “Waldstein” Sonata.
