In a world dominated by short-form content and overstimulation, people are searching for deeper meaning and connection. Acts of slowing down, staying present and sharing stories seems to be increasingly rare. On April 10 and 11, the Truckee Literary Crawl aims to inspire locals and visitors to step away from the noise and step into storytelling, creativity and community.
Now in its second year, the Truckee Literary Crawl is a dynamic celebration of authors, storytellers, poets, artists, local businesses and everyone who is passionate about the written word.
This free two-day event invites locals and visitors of all ages to move freely throughout Downtown Truckee, explore their surroundings, discover local businesses and interact with authors. There’s even a chance to share your own work at the open mic event.

The 2nd Annual Truckee Literary Crawl will showcase 70 writers and creatives, including Priya Hutner, Jesse James Ziegler, Brent J. Freeman, Blair Glaser, Karen Terrey and many more. There will be 26 interactive sessions held at walkable venues throughout Truckee, ensuring the event combines motion with inspired spoken and written words. During these sessions, the authors and storytellers will be sharing their new or most beloved published works, often also offering interactive sessions with the audience. All of the events are free, but it is highly encouraged to register early as some events offer limited seating. Attendees are also encouraged to check out the venues to support the local economy and meet community members.
Below, you will find the schedules for each day. Have a great time and make sure to bring a notebook in case you get inspired to write yourself!
