
Memorial Day weekend officially kicked off summer here in the Tahoe-Truckee region, and it’s time to enjoy longer hours of sunlight, hiking and biking trails, golfing, refreshing dips in the lake and mingling with the vibrant community. Summer also signifies a jam-packed calendar of events from live music entertainment to open-air markets to wellness festivals, and beyond. There’s something for all ages and interests to enjoy, and attending an event truly helps to capture the spirit of the Tahoe-Truckee region.
So, dance to live music under the stars, sample local cuisine at markets and check out artisans at makers fairs. I have curated a fun list of events below to help you enjoy summer to the fullest.
10th Annual Truckee Roundhouse Maker Show
June 7
Celebrate 10 years of innovation, craftsmanship, creativity and our beloved local community at the 10th Annual Truckee Roundhouse Maker Show on June 7. Featuring more than 90 artisans and vendors ranging from painters, sculptors, jewelers, metalworkers and more, this family-friendly event aims to ignite your creative spark and imagination.
Unlike many other showcases, the Roundhouse Maker Show allows attendees to create art on-site with activities including candle making, sewing, woodturning, and screen printing. There will also be a wide variety of food trucks, music, kids' crafts, a silent auction and raffle prizes.
Tickets are on sale now and will go up in cost on the day of the event, so it is encouraged to purchase them in advance. To encourage sustainable travel and ease traffic and parking congestion, carpools, rideshares, public transportation and bikes are encouraged.

2026 Lake Tahoe Summer Concert Series
June 11 to September 19
South Lake Tahoe comes to life with the Lake Tahoe Summer Concert Series. Starting on June 11, this concert series hosts some of the hottest names in the industry, including The Black Keys, Rascal Flatts, Eric Church, Train, Jack Johnson and more.
Set at the Lake Tahoe Amphitheater at Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe, this event is fun for all ages. It is encouraged to buy tickets ahead of time to ensure you have a spot. Carpooling, ridesharing and biking are also highly encouraged to help reduce the impact of traffic congestion and parking issues.

Concerts at Commons Beach
June 14 to September 6
Summer in Tahoe City is not complete without spending Sunday night dancing to music at Commons Beach. This free, locally loved, 12-week concert series features an impressive lineup of local, regional and national musicians of all genres including funk, rock, jazz and bluegrass.
This North Lake Tahoe tradition, now in its 21st year, celebrates what Tahoe summers are really about: creativity, connection and community. Many attendees like to make a whole day out of the experience and start their day exploring nearby hiking and biking trails or spending time on the lake before the concert. Plan to arrive early and bring blankets and chairs for seating options. Local food and drink vendors will be on site to offer the very best of local cuisine.

Truckee Thursdays
June 18 to August 6
Starting June 18, historic Downtown Truckee transforms into a beloved local open-air market featuring live music, a food court with vendors and food trucks, artisan vendor booths and children’s activities. Fun for all ages, Truckee Thursdays invites the entire community and visitors to celebrate the vibrant spirit of Truckee with this weekly event.
Dates: Thursdays from June 18 to August 6

Tahoe Mountain Bike Festival
June 20 and 21
Calling all mountain bikers! On June 20 and 21, TAMBA (Tahoe Area Mountain Biking Association) will be hosting a weekend dedicated to mountain biking and the community. This festival celebrates the region’s incredible trails and riders with skills clinics, demos, brands, trail advocates, group rides and live music for an unforgettable experience and opportunity to network and grow your skills and knowledge.
On June 19 there will be a special fundraiser at Cascade Kitchens in South Lake Tahoe to kick off the event. Proceeds of food and drink sales will go towards TAMBA.

Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival
July 3 to August 23
The Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival is one of the most iconic and treasured summertime events in the region, and for good reason. Set on the pristine shores of Sand Harbor, this open-air theater combines world-class talent with a stunning natural backdrop. Performances include Macbeth, The Heart of Robin Hood, signature showcase series featuring local talent and Shakespeare Youth and InterACT education programs.
While the shows start at 7:30 p.m., guests are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the entire experience. Revel in the sunshine and explore the beaches, enjoy on-site at Shakespeare’s Kitchen, featuring delicious catered options from Brimm’s Catering, and mingle with community members. This is one event you will not want to miss! It is highly encouraged to order your tickets and reserve your preferred seating options as early as possible to guarantee your visit.
