Between alpine adventures, recreation on the lake and sightseeing, you will often feel the day calling for a pause. The Tahoe-Truckee region is renowned for its seemingly infinite options for outdoor recreation and entertainment, but it’s also the perfect place to slow down, reconnect and take a breath.

Finding a meditative flow looks different for everyone. Some people enjoy sitting in nature to meditate. Some enjoy a creative outlet. Some enjoy mindful movements. And here in Tahoe-Truckee, our yoga studios offer an eclectic mix of everything, combining power flows, gentle restorative poses, breathwork, mindfulness and spiritual connection. Here, everyone is welcome, from the beginner yogi to the advanced practitioner.

Tips

  • Stay hydrated. Bring a water bottle, especially if you’re going to a heated yoga session.

  • Practice mindfulness, acceptance and living in the present. It’s more than ok to be a beginner and modify! You’re here to learn.

  • Practice at home too. Incorporating what you learn in class into your everyday life creates healthy habits. I like to use meditation, breathwork and poses at home to develop my daily practice for fitness and mental health.

  • Never compare yourself to another’s journey.

  • Make friends within the community and go to events.

  • Focus on the breath and posture. Remember, form is everything!

  • Have fun!
