Halloween is fast approaching, and Tahoe is showing itself as a hotbed for ghostly fun. Throughout the basin there are frighteningly fantastic celebrations and community gatherings, so keep reading to learn more about what the howling is all about.

Witches Night Out 2022

A free gathering to inspire the witches in all of us, Witches Night Out is a time for costumes and celebrating. In collaboration with Wildwood Makers Market, The Hangar Taproom and Bottle Shop is the location for this night of Halloween celebration complete with dance music by DJ Josbeatz. They'll have different types of contests, including one for the best cackle, decor that will make you fright with delight and an Instagram photo booth to help you show off the fun that you're having. There will also be a local makers fair offering a plethora of magical booths to visit as well as an outrageously impressive raffle, face painting and tarot card and astrology readings. Witches dressed in their best garb will receive a free raffle prize from the cauldron. This is an all-ages event running from 6 to 10 p.m.

To bring a safe and fun Halloween atmosphere to the north shore of Lake Tahoe, Incline Village is offering the community Village Green and Fitness Trails as a place to gather in celebration. From 3:30 to 6 p.m. the entire area will transform into a spooky wonderland complete with food, drink and fun souvenirs to take home with you. Incline Way will be completely closed so that pedestrians can trick or treat. Bring waterproof boots, proof of residency, your Event Brite code and, of course, a candy bag.

Parades equal fun, and this is certain for Truckee's yearly Halloween Parade. Starting at 6 p.m. sharp, follow the ghoulish ensemble as they cruise through downtown Truckee to the Community Arts Center. Once at the Arts Center, you're invited to peruse the Halloween-themed doors while gathering your holiday candy.
Halloween Bikram Yoga Class with Grace

A great way to sweat out all the sweets is to join Grace Aber for her themed Bikram Yoga Halloween class at Mountain Lotus. With a devilish allure, Grace will delight you with a glow-in-the-dark series of moves that will leave you feeling your best. Come dressed up in a sweat-proof costume and be ready to have fun!

Maybe one of the hottest tickets for Halloween in Lake Tahoe, The Loft Lounge is transforming into The Haunted Loft, giving a home for all the freaks to gather. Complete with impressive decorations, incredible party favors and spinning dance music by the one and only DJ/Producer Groove Cartel, otherwise known as Cary White, the former drummer for the band Infected Mushroom, this is an evening to be remembered. Music will spin from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. To inspire your best costume attire, there will be more than $1,000 in prizes for the top three costumes. The restaurant will be open starting at 5 p.m. to offer drink specials and dinner as well as VIP tables and bottle service at their exclusive fire-pit tables. The cover charge for the party is $10, with the action beginning at 9 p.m. All attendees must be 21 years of age or older. For the kids, The Loft Theatre is revving up its Magic Fusion to bring out the ghastly in people with a special matinee at 4:30 p.m. and then at 7 p.m. with a star-studded performance by comedic magician Nick Paul. These shows are for all ages and there will be free candy given out to the kids.
43rd Annual Freakers Ball

Get ready to mingle with Tahoe's creatures of the night at the longest-running celebration for Halloween, The Annual Freakers Ball. An event that should be enjoyed by everyone at least one time in their lives, it is a true excuse to let your ghoulish self out. The Annual Freakers Ball Halloween Party is two parties in one. Both the Blu Nightclub and Opal will bring together the sexiest people throughout Lake Tahoe. To help inspire the best in dress, there is a $10,000 costume contest. And to keep the inspiration going, they will also offer VIP table and bottle service at both venues. Doors open at 9 p.m. You must be at least 21 years old to attend. Tickets cost $25.
Heavenly Village Trick or Treat

Touted by event organizer Dreu Marin as "the biggest and best trick or treat event ever to hit the South Shore," Heavenly Village Trick or Treat is all about the kids. An evening that exemplifies the partnership between South Tahoe Chamber and Heavenly Village, the Heavenly Village Trick or Treat gathering is about creating a safe place for the trick or treaters of South Lake Tahoe. Complete with a $1,000 costume contest with various categories (including a mom's Dress to Impress category), The Shops of Heavenly Village will become the stage for kids to show off their best Halloween imagination while enjoying a favorite part of this wonderful holiday: the free candy! There will be more than 50 candy stops throughout the Village along with bounce houses, slides, smile-inducing attractions, zombie DJs as well as live music from Ted Kennedy and the Residents. This is a free event that runs from 3 to 7 p.m.
