What makes the South Lake Tahoe business community so incredible?

On Thursday, April 3, you’ll have the chance to experience the pulse of the vibrant economy for yourself as you connect with thriving local business owners, professionals and entrepreneurs at the Tahoe Chamber 2025 Go Local Business Expo. This is the region’s largest business networking event, and you'll meet the community that makes South Lake Tahoe so special.

Although famous for glitzy casinos, a vibrant entertainment scene and proximity to world-class skiing resorts, South Lake Tahoe is also home to a network of locally owned businesses and entrepreneurs in the entertainment, food and beverage, tourism, nonprofit and apparel industries.

In true Tahoe spirit, the Expo prioritizes accessibility, community and sustainability. With that, they have provided new family-friendly elements to make it fun and interactive for entrepreneurs of all ages. To help make it affordable, children younger than 9 can attend for free.

“The Family Alley is a new addition,” says Jessica Grime, the Tahoe Chamber’s membership, events and program manager. “This year we want to bring a more inclusive and inviting tone to the Expo, and we will have businesses focused on children, family and advocacy. We want to pull in vendors and attendees from all demographics and place an emphasis on community for all ages.”

They are also encouraging public transportation and carpooling.

“We want to encourage people to utilize Lake Link, public transportation or carpool to not only reduce parking and traffic, but also because we do have vendors that sell and sample alcoholic beverages.”

South Lake Tahoe is a foodie’s haven, and there will be more than 30 food and drink vendors at the Expo. Culinary aficionados can enjoy sampling dishes and drinks from local restaurants and breweries. Many vendors are affiliated with the South Tahoe Restaurant Association, a local member-driven organization that aims to uplift and promote the culinary community and provide essential resources for continuing education, growth and networking.

This year, Cuppa Tahoe and Philly Phil's will be entering the lineup as some of the exciting new vendors joining the EXPO. Alongside these businesses making their debut, the EXPO is adding the Miss Nevada Organization in hopes of inspiring and empowering young women entrepreneurs to connect with mentors to make their dreams into a successful and impactful reality.

Another exciting new vendor to look out for is ECO-CLEAN Solutions, a company dedicated to keeping Lake Tahoe clean and clear utilizing the latest non-invasive technology and innovations. Promoting sustainable tourism is at the forefront of our region's missions, and ECO-CLEAN Solutions wants to tackle our trash problem with the removal of microplastics, pollution and invasive aquatic species and weeds.

Are you a fitness and wellness enthusiast? There will be vendors for you here, too! Another newcomer, the Sierra Nevada Harmonic Egg, will be making its debut, showcasing its sound and light therapy technology. Sierra Sauna Club will be highlighting their beautifully crafted mobile sauna, a relaxing experience that can be delivered straight to your house or location of choice.

On top of the various new vendors is a special addition to the event: fireside chats with local entrepreneurs, where audience members can ask questions and learn about what it takes to create a thriving business in a highly regarded destination town and to evolve and rebrand with the constant changes that come with new local trends, tourists and innovations.

Many of the favorite vendors from previous years will also be returning, including Edgewood Tahoe Resort and Margaritaville, their lead sponsor.

So, what goes into planning and promoting an event on this scale in a mountain town?

"It’s all about partnerships with the community," Jessica says. "Our top priority is to make it accessible because we believe in the community and long-term engagement and growth. It has been an honor to create the event and get the enthusiasm on all levels to enjoy and celebrate with us."

She adds: "It takes a lot of planning planning, and the event itself is the celebration. For those attending, they just experience the celebration. They don’t see the entire process, and everything that goes on behind the scenes. For us, the overall feeling of joy, excitement, community and completion is what really stands out."
