
With temperatures climbing into the high 50s, abundant sunshine in the forecast and the forest bursting to life with fresh flowers and active wildlife, spring is officially here in the Truckee-Tahoe region! The snow is rapidly melting, transforming the landscape and beginning a season that celebrates renewal, rebirth, recreation and our vibrant local community. Easter weekend is the perfect time to celebrate spring with a variety of family-friendly events, from egg hunts to brunch with the Easter Bunny to reconnecting with nature and taking in the endless signature alpine and lakeside views.
Below, I have created a guide of local events to help you hop into the Easter spirit with your loved ones.

Easter Weekend at Everline
Friday, April 18 - Sunday, April 20
Enjoy three full days of family-friendly fun at Everline Resort and Spa in Olympic Valley. Kick off the celebrations with a beautiful cross-country ski tour on the meticulously groomed tracks in Olympic Valley. This will surely work up an appetite for Saturday and Sunday’s festivities! On Saturday, there will be an Easter egg decorating class and opportunities for photos with the Easter Bunny. Head to Cascades on Sunday for a truly exceptional brunch buffet, featuring fresh omelettes, carved ham, yogurt parfaits, fruit and a variety of indulgent signature pastries.

Easter Egg Splash and Dash
Saturday, April 19
The City of South Lake Tahoe will be putting on a fun aquatic Easter egg hunt for ages 12 and younger this Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. There will be various time slots separated by age and a special sensory session as well. Kids ages 9 to 12 can enjoy a more adventurous and challenging deep dive for eggs. Prizes include rec center passes, birthday party packages and more. Each attendee will receive a fun goodie bag and have a chance to meet the Easter Bunny and make themed crafts.

Easter Egg Hunt and Brunch at Camp Richardson Resort
Saturday, April 19
Gather your family for a fun getaway to The Grove at Camp Richardson Resort on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Enjoy a delicious brunch with special menu items, an egg hunt and scenic lakeside views. The egg hunt begins at 11:15 a.m. There will be chances to meet the Easter Bunny and make Easter-themed crafts. Kids 10 and younger will receive complimentary baskets for the egg hunt.

Heavenly Village Easter Egg Hunt
Sunday, April 20
The sixth annual Heavenly Village Easter Egg Hunt promises to be a celebration of local Easter traditions, springtime and community engagement. The Shops at Heavenly Village is committed to creating a high-quality experience that will delight attendees of all ages with an exciting Easter egg hunt with more than 15,000 eggs with candy, toys and cash prizes! Alongside the entertainment of the egg hunt will include brunch at Fire and Ice Restaurant with the Easter Bunny and Build a Bunny station. This year, to further elevate the exciting experience for children, Heavenly Village added a carnival element with a Ferris wheel and various rides. This popular event is sure to sell out quickly! It is highly recommended that you buy tickets in advance to ensure your attendance. I also recommend that you get there early or plan a carpool to ensure you get a parking spot. The fun starts at 10 a.m.

Easter Egg Hunt at Tahoe XC
Sunday, April 20
The egg-citing tradition continues at Tahoe XC on Sunday with free egg hunts, a delicious bratwurst and sauerkraut brunch, and a chance to win a golden egg with a prize of a 2025–26 season pass! The first egg hunt, specifically for the younger children, will be held at the Winter Discovery Center yurt. The second will be held at the Yellow Loop Trail, where the golden egg resides. Make sure to bring your baskets! It all happens from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Easter Eggstravaganza at Tahoe Donner
Sunday, April 20
Gather your baskets and head to Tahoe Donner to spend the morning with the Easter Bunny and celebrate the sunny springtime season with egg hunts, craft stations, face painting and more. There will be four separate egg hunts, each divided by age, beginning at 11:30 am. The event runs from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 pm.

Tahoe Donner is also hosting a delicious and hearty Easter-themed brunch complete with a carving station, king crab legs, waffles and the family-favorite dessert station. Adults can enjoy a complimentary champagne or mimosa. Look out for the Easter Bunny, as it is rumored he may make a special appearance! Reservations are required. This event typically sells out quickly, so I recommend you reserve your spot early. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Golden Egg Hunt at Palisades Tahoe

Do you have what it takes to find the golden egg? Join other local families and visitors for the popular Golden Egg Hunt at Palisades Tahoe and Alpine to put your egg hunting skills to the test amongst the stunning Olympic Valley views. The Easter Bunny will also be making a special appearance on skis!

Celebrate Easter and Diamond Peak's closing day with Penguin Pete and the Easter Bunny with egg hunts, family-friendly après events, a Sunday Service and a live DJ. Wear your favorite tropical-themed apparel to really bring in the spring vibes, and look out for golden eggs strategically hidden on the slopes. These eggs can be exchanged for awesome prizes, including lift tickets!

If more laid-back Easter celebrations are your speed, head over to Margaritaville Resort for a fin-tastic tropical-themed brunch at their signature Come Monday Cafe, named after one of Jimmy Buffett’s most beloved songs. Enjoy their curated springtime brunch menu, complete with a variety of fresh pastries, warm buttery pancakes, eggs and garden-fresh fruits and vegetables. Reservations are highly recommended to ensure your spot. Brunch times are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
