Earth Day is officially April 22, but in the Tahoe-Truckee region, Earth Day is celebrated every day! We are so fortunate to have a community that is passionate about fostering sustainable lifestyles and promoting conservation attempts to protect our fragile ecosystem so future generations can enjoy the sparkling lakes, fresh alpine air and vast network of forested trails.
This month, local volunteers, nonprofits, small businesses and visitors will be coming together to celebrate our beloved lake and community by hosting various educational events and cleanups throughout the region. With summer rapidly approaching, sustainability is at the forefront of many community topics, and through networking, innovation, advocacy and education, locals and visitors are coming together to ensure everyone does their part to preserve our ecosystem in balance with promoting outdoor recreation and tourism.
Below, I have highlighted upcoming events celebrating Earth Day and using their platforms to make environmentally friendly habits fun and a part of the Tahoe-Truckee lifestyle. Together, we can make an incredible difference!
