Presented by Suja Organic, this favorite get together will be taking place on Saturday, August 17 in Tahoe City. Skate the Lake is a 28-mile Skate-Bike-Roll along the majestic shores of Lake Tahoe and the beautiful Truckee River. It raises funds for B4BC’s education, prevention and survivorship programs. The event is a collective ride for breast cancer awareness and prevention, and it attracts skateboarders, longboarders, rollerskaters, bikers and bladers (essentially anyone on wheels). Participants are encouraged to ride in honor of a loved one who is battling or has battled breast cancer.

This year's event kicks off on Friday, August 16 from 2 to 8 p.m. with a registration party at Commons Beach, featuring live music, yoga by Mountain Lotus Yoga, a silent auction, a huge raffle and a delicious BBQ with cold beverages. On Saturday morning, August 17, the event starts at Sugar Pine Park and rolls up West Shore to Squaw Valley Resort then back down to finish at Commons Beach in downtown Tahoe City for a total of 28 miles! This is an event for all ages, and all abilities are encouraged and welcome.

For those who would like to participate but are unsure of a 28-mile commitment, B4BC will be inviting participants to drop in at the final Squaw Valley Village Hydration Station and join the crew for the last easy, breezy 7 miles of the path back to the finish line.

To bring the excitement even higher, new for the event this year are some great hotel discounts. B4BC has partnered with The Pepper Tree Inn and River Ranch Lodge for discount rooms for your Skate the Lake stay. Call to make your reservation and mention Skate the Lake for your hotel room discount. Also, The Village at Squaw Valley is offering a two-day discount or three-day discount.

To register for Skate the Lake, visit B4BC.org/SkateTheLake and create your personal fundraising page. All participants are encouraged to raise funds as much as they can for the cause. Epic prizes will be awarded to top fundraisers from YETI, The North Face, Arbor, GoPro and more.
