Event Description:
TOCCATA-Tahoe Symphony, led by Artistic Director James Rawie, presents the sweeping drama of Bach’s St. Matthew Passion (Part 2, performed in English). Composed in 1727 and lost for more than 100 years, St. Matthew Passion is regarded as one of the greatest masterpieces of Baroque sacred music. This epic performance features antiphonal orchestra, chorus and demanding vocal solos. Bach takes a personal approach to retelling the Passion story through his music. All performances are free of admission charge in general seating. Donations needed.
