Batik Bandanna: Wax Resist on Fabric
Learn the ancient tradition of batik, an intriguing technique of applying wax resist on fabric to be over dyed.
We will explore various application techniques and tools, with possible results ranging from intricate details, bold geometrics, to fields of abstract textures. In this five hour class, time will be given to practice techniques before creating an original design to suit each individual’s vision. You will leave with a set of practice swatches and a finished 22” square of organic cotton. You’ll be given the option to finish this piece as a wearable bandana or a luminous window hanging. Ages 18+.
